Brits and Beyond: LONDON TRIP :)

By Sofía Carrasco, Iker Maza, Carla Monesma Puig, Julia Monesma and Pablo Pérez

The week of 8th to 13th of April the group of 4ºESO went to London to live a great experience.

TUESDAY:

We started the trip at 1AM, when we left Huesca in the bus and we arrived at Barcelona’s airport at 5AM. The plane took off at 8 AM and landed at 11 AM. The bus took us to the Hotel, we left our luggage in our rooms and we went to Brick Lane. We saw a little bit of the zone and we ate there too. After eating we walked to Tower Bridge and Southbank and we took too many photos. Then we continued walking until Borough market, but we didn’t see anything because it was closed. Finally, very tired, we went to buy some dinner and we ate it at the hotel.

WEDNESDAY:

The day started walking to Buckingham Palace crossing St James Park to watch the change of guard that was like a tiny parade. Later we went to Covent Garden to eat and shop for something around the zone. After eating something we walked to the London Eye and then we split into two groups. One group went to the big wheel, others went to the Aquarium. In my case it was the Aquarium. It was a very good experience because there’s a lot of places to see the animals in different directions. In the afternoon we went to Piccadilly Circus crossing the Westminster Bridge to see Big Ben. And finally we had dinner in Chinatown after going back to the hotel.

THURSDAY:

We started the morning having breakfast and some fell asleep. After this we left the hotel and we went to King Cross, there is the Harry Potter shop and near it was the famous Harry Potter Platform 9 ¾ but we didn’t get in because the queue was too long. Later we went to Camden Market and we spent most of the morning there, also we ate there. It is a very interesting market, and full of curious people. In addition we saw the famous Punks and a recommended activity there is to take a picture on the bridge and on the background appears the letters of camden market. Continuing with the photos there was a 20th century themed shop where you can dress up and take pictures and also there is a photo booth.

As I said before we ate there, and it is a very good Idea because there are a lot of kinds of restaurants. Next, some went to the Chelsea Stadium and the others went to Regent’s Park. Afterwards all the group met in Hyde Park at the Princess Diana Memorial and one thing that caught my attention was that it was full of squirrels. And finally we had dinner near the hotel.

FRIDAY

The first thing we did in the morning was go to the Science Museum after breakfast at the hotel, that day it was going to be the day of the museums. After we spent all morning seeing the first museum we went to buy the food in a supermarket and ate outside the other museum, the National History Museum. When we finished eating we entered the museum but not all of us saw it because some decided to stay out. For those who weren’t tired of museums, they went to see The National Gallery and the rest went shopping in a street near Piccadilly Circus. After a day of walking a lot we went to Carnaby Street where there was a lot of variety of restaurants. When we all finished dinner, we took the underground and returned to the hotel.

SATURDAY

This was a sad day because it was our final day. We started visiting another museum, in this case, the British Museum. After spending two hours there, we went to the Notting Hill neighborhood to eat at Portobello Market and see the street shops. Then, at 5 pm, we take the Tube from Notting Hill to St. Paul’s Underground Station. After a short trip by the Tube, we visited the Cathedral and the Millenium Bridge with an impressive view. In the afternoon we went to Canary Wharf, which was a work zone with high buildings and a good atmosphere with the natives. The last group activity was a cruise on the Thames river where we could see the illuminated bridges.

SUNDAY:

Our last day in London, we woke up at 7:30 to have breakfast, and at 10:30 we were already on the bus to the airport. We arrived at 11:30 and the plane took off at 15:00. We landed in Barcelona at 18:00 and the bus took us to Huesca, where we arrived at 22:30.

After a great trip with our friends, unfortunately we needed to return to our houses. But we have a great memory of this wonderful trip.
